Dr. Lior Abramson-Vaisman
Principle Investigator
I am a researcher at the School of Psychological Sciences and the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University. I completed my Ph.D. at the Lab of Social Development at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where I examined the development of individual differences in empathic behaviors from infancy through early adolescence. I then pursued postdoctoral training at the Developmental Affective Neuroscience Lab at Columbia University, where my work focused on how attachment relationships and adverse caregiving experiences (e.g., abuse, neglect, and parental abandonment) shape neural and emotional behaviors in youth. My current research focuses on how emotional processes such as fear, exploration, emotion differentiation, and emotion regulation develop across childhood and adolescence, and how close relationships shape these processes.

I completed my B.A. studies in Psychology and Education and my M.A. studies in Cognitive Psychology at Tel Aviv University, where my master’s thesis focused on the study of working memory and its underlying cognitive mechanisms.

Hila Sharaby
I completed my bachelor’s degree at Reichman University in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience. During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a research assistant in Prof. Daniel Levy’s lab, studying memory and cognition in stroke patients at Loewenstein Hospital. I also served as a research assistant in Prof. Ruth Feldman’s lab, investigating parent–child brain synchrony. I am currently completing my masters in Neuroscience and my thesis focuses on emotional differentiation in young children, with the goal of advancing parental approaches that support independent emotional exploration.
